Sen. Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel, the son of a PDP-Laban co-founder, said Friday that they will appeal the resolution of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) which recognized the faction led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi as legitimate members of the ruling.
The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan faction composed of President Duterte’s allies and the UniTeam of presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio will join forces in campaign rallies.
The original PDP-Laban was a coalition of opposition parties during the Marcos dictatorship. President Corazon Aquino, who replaced Ferdinand Marcos after the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution, was a member of PDP-Laban.
