AI is here to save the (PC sales) day, with research firm Canalys reporting that global PC shipments are expected to boost up to 267 million units in 2024.
Notebooks, which usually drive the majority of volume for personal computer shipments declined 18.5% on-year, while desktops, which had been on a growth trajectory till the quarter ending March, declined by 7% on-year.
The pace of the recovery remains weak and many retailers still grapple with unsold inventory, forcing PC makers and their suppliers including chipmakers to adjust production volume and prices.
