Vaccination clinics held for school staff

On Thursday 266 vaccinations were given between primarily Eaton Community Schools and Preble Shawnee Local Schools. On Friday, PC Public Health said they were projected to vaccinate 276 more from the remaining districts National Trail, Tri-County North and Twin Valley Community Local Schools on Friday, for a total of 542 individuals from Preble County schools. EATON On Thursday, Feb. 25 and Friday, Feb. 26, Preble County Public Health held vaccination clinics at Eagles Point, formerly Eaton High School, for all school districts within Preble County.

PC Public Health seeking additional funding

EATON On Monday, Feb. 1, Preble County Commissioners met with PC Public Health Commissioner Erik Balster and PC Auditor Lavon Wright to discuss the placement of a public health levy on the May election ballot.
According to Wright, Balster had emailed stating the health department would need $600,000 to have a “sustainable” budget.
“I want to again express my gratitude again to you for listening to our rationale, and our organizational process, and really what we are excited to do and some of the challenges we’ve had in doing those things,” Balster added during the meeting.

COVID-19 vaccine available to elderly residents in Preble County on Thursday, Jan. 21

Preble County Public Health will administer COVID-19 vaccinations to those 80 and older on Thursday, Jan. 21. The vaccines will be administered by appointment only at Residences at Eagles Point, located at 307 N. Cherry St. in Eaton.

EATON Preble County Public Health will begin distributing approximately 200 doses of Pfizer, Inc.’s COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, Jan. 21. The vaccines will be administered primarily to local residents aged 80 and older, according to Public Health Commissioner Erik Balster.
“We hope to hold a clinic the following Tuesday if we get more [doses], but we know for sure we’ll be doing one on Thursday,” he said said.
