TYLER, Texas Every April, the
East Texas Crisis Center (ETCC) hosts its biannual Hope Awards to increase awareness about sexual violence.
Two in five women and one in five men in Texas have been sexually assaulted at least once in their lifetime, according to ETCC.
Tyler Mayor, Don Warren, proclaimed it Sexual Assault Awareness Month during Monday s ceremony.

TYLER, Texas Although tap water in the city of Tyler has been declared safe to drink, many residents have noticed dirty-looking, smelly and even dirty tasting water.

Solution one: Cloudy Water
Cloudy water most likely means that there are air bubbles in your line.
LouAnn Campbell with Tyler Water Utilities said, “If [the cloudy water] is coming from your hot water line you should probably drain your water heater. If you have a conventional tank system, we suggest draining that to see if that clears the problem. And if it s from your cold water line, we suggest that you run your water.”
Tyler Fire Department receives highest Public Protection Classification rating

TYLER, Texas The City of Tyler announced Thursday the fire department received the highest rating out of 1-10 from the Insurance Services Office (ISO) for the Public Protection Classification (PPC). The rating happens every ten years using data about the city s fire department operations, water system and communications.
Over the last 30 years, the city has gone from a three to a two, and now the score of one joining the top 2% of rated fire departments in the State of Texas.

TYLER, Texas The City of Tyler completed its Intelligent Transportation System Master Plan Study to address traffic issues in the fall of 2020 and is now moving on to Phase 1 for traffic signal retiming.
The plan study identified more than $12 million in improvement projects over a 10-year period.

During the Tyler City Council meeting Wednesday, a contract was approved for $108,000 with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. to retime lights at 18 intersections.
