Police suspect 63-year-old Payette woman of stabbing her husband

PAYETTE, Idaho A 63-year-old Payette woman now faces aggravated battery charges after police suspect she stabbed her husband.
The Payette County Sheriff s Office said they were alerted of a report of an aggravated battery at about 10 a.m. Wednesday when someone called about a 66-year-old man who arrived at a hospital in Fruitland with a stab wound.
PAYETTE COUNTY â Payette County Sheriff s Office is investigating a stabbing incident of a 66-year-old man, but the public is not believed to be in danger. They are actively working on this case, according to an email from Sheriff Andy Creech at 11:38 a.m. today. At this time, I do not believe that there is any danger to the public.
According to a news release from Creech, a phone call reporting aggravated battery came in at 10 a.m., after the victim arrived at St. Luke s in Fruitland to be treated.

An elderly couple was stabbed multiple times early this morning and are currently in critical condition in a Boise hospital, thanks to lifesaving measures by first responders.
According to Payette Police Chief John Plaza, they are currently still âpicking up the piecesâ of what happened, but a suspect is in custody and will be arraigned this afternoon.
Plaza said officers were dispatched at about 1:12 a.m. to a residence, after a female had called stating that she had been stabbed.
Enroute to the residence, officers saw a man walking in the area who had blood on him, so they detained him as a suspect.

At the Payette County Board of Commissionersâ regular meeting on April 19, Friend updated the board on how efforts to collect life jackets was going. The commission first approved the program in August 2020.
There, Friend told the board that the stations would be up and running by the weekend of May 1. In an email to the newspaper Tuesday, Friend said the program got its start just by observing an unfilled need for safety on Payette County waterways.
