BBC Studios and ABS-CBN Corporation has recently announced a new scripted format agreement that will see gripping psychological drama “Doctor Foster” remade for Filipino audiences.
According to network’s press statement, the agreement will make the Philippines the sixth international market to license the “Doctor Foster” format, having already been adapted in South Korea, France, Russia, Turkey, and India.
A second series has aired in France and is currently in production in India.
In South Korea the format (known locally as “The World of the Married”) was the country’s highest-rated drama in cable TV history.
Of course, fans are now excited about who will be in the Pinoy adaptation.

In an interview with Dobol B TV, FDA director general Eric Domingo explained that an application is needed before the regulatory body can issue the compassionate special permit to a hospital. “Lahat po ‘yan bawat ospital kumukuha ng compassionate special permit kasi kontrolado po sa CSP kung ilang tableta, kung kaninong pasyente nila gagamitin, kung saan manggagaling na bansa, ano ang registration sa bansa na ‘yon” (hospitals need to get a CSP and it is patient-specific), he said.
