The son of amy fraaken tells us that the shooting happened after she announced she wanted to leave her husband. Des Moines Police say 47yearold Barney Fraaken shot the two and then tried to shoot himself. His step son says he doesnt think his stepfather had ever been abusive to his mother, but was nervous when he bought several guns. Fraaken is now in Police Custody in the hospital where hes being treated for a selfinflicted gunshot wound, but he has not been officially charged. Weve tried to get an update on his condition, but so far, hospital officials have not responded to our request. And were also waiting to learn the condition of, and possible charges for, the man behind the wheel of a deadly accident monday morning.
