Barton County releases weekly COVID-19 report 5.8% of Kansans vaccinated Barton County Administrator Phil Hathcock released the following COVID-19 update for the county at 12:30 p.m. Friday, showing 41 new cases since 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22. There have been 2,341 positive cases in Barton County to date, and 53 of those were active Friday – a decrease from 67 active cases a week earlier. The number of active quarantine or isolation orders was also down, with 80 on Friday compared to 116 a week earlier. To date, Barton County has issued 6,826 of these orders. Of the 2,341 cases to date in Barton County, 988 were males and 1,353 were females. Of the 41 news cases, 16 are males and 25 are females. Two reside in Albert, 22 in Great Bend, three in Hoisington and 14 in rural Barton County.

Barton County COVID-19 numbers hold steady

Great Bend USD 428 Great Bend USD 428 reports that the district was notified Thursday, Jan. 21, that a staff member at Helping Hands Preschool has tested positive. Two additional staff members and four students were identified as close contacts. Previously, on Jan. 18, the district learned that another staff member at the preschool had tested positive and 10 school contacts had been identified. Pawnee County The latest statistics from the Pawnee County Health Department show 48 new cases of COVID-19 reported within the past two weeks, including 26 cases in the past week. Total active cases were 29 as of Tuesday, Jan. 19. Total cases for Pawnee County reported by KDHE at that time were 1,077 which included residents in long-term care, Larned State Hospital and the Larned Correctional and Mental Health Facility.
