Don Van Liere, age 65 of Holland, passed away on April 7, 2021. Don served his community as a volunteer firefighter with Grand Haven and Holland Townships and was a member of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department for over 27 years. Don enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing, picking Morel mushrooms, taking his dog for rides, and spending time on his boat with his wife Keli. When not outdoors he loved being around friends and cooking chicken barbeques for weddings and golf leagues. His proudest achievements were his once-in-a-lifetime Michigan elk, Utah mountain lion, and a new granddaughter.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Jennie Van Liere, and siblings Carol Van Liere, Mary (John) Bos, and Roger VanLiere.

PAW PAW, Mich. â The Van Buren County Sheriffâs Office says officers investigated an illegal methamphetamine operation in Paw Paw this morning.
Weâre told detectives arrived at a residence in the area of Paw Paw Road and 40th Street and obtained a search warrant. They add a Uniform Patrol Deputy was called in to secure the home before a search was made.
Van Buren police tell us they uncovered a small amount of meth in the home and several meth labs in the garage. They say charges against a male and female resident will be pursued once an investigation report is sent to the Van Buren County Prosecutor.
