For some Chicago areas residents, what’s happening in Ukraine is personal. They’ve got relatives suddenly living in a war zone. They’re trying to draw Americans’ attention to the Russian invasion including with a rally this afternoon in Chicago’s Ukrainian Village.
As Russian forces continue their attack in Ukraine, residents of Chicago’s Ukrainian Village neighborhood are rallying against the invasion and praying for families overseas.
"I don’t know what’s worse, being over there and being in danger or being here and knowing that we can’t do anything, really," said Oleksiy Vynnytskyy, 28, an urgent care nurse from Wheeling.
