Hal ini dikarenakan Wanagama menjadi tempat usulan untuk karantina bagi pasien terkonfirmasi COVID-19 bergejala ringanGunung Kidul, DIY (ANTARA) - Pemerintah Kabupaten Gunung Kidul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY), melayangkan surat permohonan penggunaan Wiswa Wanagama, yakni kawasan hutan di Desa Banaran, Kecamatan Playen, untuk isolasi pasien terkonfirmasi COVID19 bergejala ringan hingga sedang kepada Universitas Gajah Mada Yogyakarta.
