LAKEWOOD – A township man and his nephew were indicted by a grand jury Tuesday for a 2019 murder in Howell, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said.
Omar Rivera-Rojas, also known as Juan Carlos Rivera-Rojas, 31, and Alberto Rojas-Hernandez, 19, face charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and tampering with evidence related to the alleged homicide of 33-year-old Lakewood resident Domingo Merino-Rafael.
Howell Township police responded to a report of a male body lying on Hurley Pond Road at 3:46 a.m. on Oct. 18, 2019. Responding officers found Merino-Rafael face down in the roadway, unconscious with multiple severe head wounds, according to officials.
