At the sentencing hearing today of getaway driver Alan Graham (49) the Central Criminal Court heard how Lee Boylan sustained three gunshot wounds to his shoulder and neck as he sat in his van in broad daylight in a highly populated area in west Dublin. The court heard the then 24-year-old would have bled to death if his carotid artery and jugular vein had not joined in a arteriovenous fistula , an abnormal connection between an artery and a vein that stopped the bleeding.

Man, 49, admits to helping gang with attempted murder Updated / Monday, 11 Jan 2021 22:34 Crime Correspondent A 49-year-old man has admitted helping a criminal gang to try to murder another man who was shot several times in west Dublin almost two years ago. Lee Boylan sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body and neck as he sat in a van at Blakestown Road on 6 March 2019. Alan Graham, with an address at Davin Gardens, Caherdavin in Limerick, pleaded guilty to help facilitate the attempted murder of Mr Boylan. He was arraigned before the Central Criminal Court via video link from Mountjoy Prison. Graham pleaded guilty to having knowledge of the existence of a criminal organisation and participating in activities with the intention of facilitating the commission by the criminal organisation of the offence of attempted murder of Mr Boylan or being reckless as to same at Blakestown Road, Mulhuddart, Dublin 15 on March 6, 2019.
