Make it: Look up at the sky above Limerick and Shannon, Co Clare, on February 11 and you might notice kites of all shapes and sizes soaring through the air. It’s part of The Hunt Museum’s Kite Power Festival, which is highlighting the power of wind as an energy resource. The museum is calling on kite enthusiasts and novices to get creative with recyclable materials, with prizes for the best flyer, the best use of recycled Christmas packaging and decoration and the best artistic design. If you want to learn how to make your own one, Lumen Street Theatre and some local Men’s Shed groups will host a series of free kite making workshops from January 13 to February 3. huntmuseum.com
