A FOODBANK which has been helping dozens of families in need during lockdown has seen an increase in the number of people working who have ended up needing help to get by. Community Helping Hands works as a foodbank in Blackburn with Darwen and has been operating a delivery service for those in need during lockdown. The community interest company, which was created four years ago and officially registered two years ago, has noticed that since the introduction of free school meal vouchers and the additional payment for universal credit, that more employed people who have been laid off or furloughed are coming forward to request help.
