But could this be the first of many altercations with the police? This week the Government is debating the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill, the aim of which, according to the Government and Home Secretary, Priti Patel, is to restore confidence in the criminal justice system. However, this bill will remove the fundamental right of an individual to protest which is essential to democracy. At present, if the police want to restrict a protest, they must show that the protest it is likely to cause serious disorder,
