Mar 16, 2021 Burdette “Burt” Shipman, 85, of Fort Dodge, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, March 18, 2021, in the Chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Snook officiating. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Karen Shipman of Fort Dodge; children, Randy (Roxanne) Shipman of Fort Dodge, Mark (Holly) Shipman of Denton, TX, Cindy (Dave) Roberts of Harlingen, TX, and Kim (Joe) Kesterson of Denton, TX; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George “Oscar” and Marvyl (Hinton) Shipman; daughter, Brenda Shipman; 6 brothers and 6 sisters. Burdette Edwin Shipman was born April 1, 1935, in Fort Dodge.
