Award-winning videographer Dana Conroy devoted three years and her own funds to produce a documentary on the risks of laser refractive surgery after undergoing the procedure herself.
Laser eye surgery, also known as LASIK, is a vision corrective procedure which uses a laser to reshape the inner cornea. Roughly half a million Americans have the surgery every year.
"It's a safe and effective procedure" Magruder said. "The FDA has confirmed that over multiple studies since the 90s. What we're talking about is doing the best job that we can to inform patients so they can make the best choice for themselves."
