New lights, raised median part of Riverside Drive project bid approval by city

Road work on Riverside Drive could begin this summer, though it is not clear whether it will be in a few weeks or a couple of months.  The project will include upgrading deficient asphalt pavement; a waterline replacement; improvements to the curb ramps; the installation of new lighting at intersections; the addition of a raised median; median landscaping; and pavement marking. 

City adopts new budget, which includes funds for road pilot project and COLA increases

The City of Rio Rancho’s fiscal year 2022-23 budget will include funding for a pilot program to address residential roads, city employee raises and improvements to Fire Station 6 in Mariposa. The new budget the Governing Body adopted Thursday evening projects revenues to be about $84.7 million, 19 percent, or $13.8 million higher than the one the city adopted a year ago, $71 million.  

Texas-based company seeks to build rental homes in RR

The Rio Rancho Governing Body approved a zoning change from Retail Commercial (C-1) to Special Use (SU) last Thursday to accommodate the construction of single-family and duplex rental homes on about 10.6 acres of land between the northeast corner of Westside Boulevard and Trail Side Road SE.
