This is the headline that caught our attention from politico. There is also this from paul waldman of the washington post. Actuallylicans do not need to show that they govern. Nottor Mitch Mcconnell is hoping to create a sparkling new era of bipartisan cooperation. He knows that the things that he and his colleagues would like to do are impossible as long as there is a democratic president with a veto pen. What he does in the two years is about making it more likely the 2016 gop holds on to the majority of the senate. And him republican wins the white house. Another headline, this is from the hill newspaper. The gop preps for power. A piece this morning from Thomas Massie Thomas Massie. The paraphrase the party of no to the party of now what. The scholars make this point. What happens when a party who identifies itself as an outlie

Secessionists are coming out of the woodwork. Wait until you hear their reasons. Good to have you with us. Thanks for watching president the right wing afelt to gin up a scandal is falling apart. Republicans have declared the president is covering up information about benghazi. Republicans gave us a pregame of accusations, involving ambassador susan rice. Some house members say this is worse than watergate. This is not simply a coverup of a thirdrate burglary. In for jennifer granholm. Tonight the fight rages on in michigan. The new front line for the battle for workers rights in this country. The uaw is founded there, but republican lawmakers are now threatening to cripple it there. This is pure and simple union busting. These right to work laws have already had serious impacts across the country. Wages for all workers, unionized and otherwise have decreased an average of 1,500 a year and workers are less likely to get Health Insurance or pensions. During the campaign any president voiced strong support the unions but as we know campaigning a very different from governing. Things didnt look too promising this morning. So lets let the president speak for himself on this one. Here he is in red ford, michigan late this afternoon. Obama what we shouldnt be doing is taking away your rights to bargain for better wages. These socalled right to work laws have everything to do with politics. Nice work mr. President , reelection beginning to look goo
And they didnt belittle intelligence. They did not belittle learning. The actually aspired to it and hoped others would as well. They did not appeal to americas fears. They brought forward american bravery. And they would never they never would have abandoned the war on poverty to declare a war on women, a war on workers, a war on immigrants, a war on the sick and hungry children. [applause] now i know, i know that people like Mitch Mcconnell and kelly ayotte [booing] i know they have been trying to distance themselves from the tea party ever since they nearly drove our country into default. But the truth is, sadly, there is very little difference today between the tea party and so called mainstream republicans. Just ask carol sheaporter. Just ask annie kuster. They see it every day in the now sadly unrepresentative house of representatives [applause] yes, there is very little daylight between the tea party and the republican party. Think about it. Both would have millionaires do less.

When it comes to the defectors as they are listed, the for republicans one of the bill to go farther and to deal the healthcare law. Again, we want to ask you not only about the democratic support for the upton bill, which the president said he would veto and probably has no support in the senate, but again, 39 democrats in the house voted for it, giving support to it. Your thoughts on that and the condition of the Affordable Care act as well. In the analysis piece on the front page of the los angeles house it says that the vote was the latest display of democratic anxiety.
