A three-vehicle collision involving a drunk driver occurred at 11:08 a.m. Sunday, May 23, at the intersection of US Highway 2 and State Highway 20 in Devils Lake. According to a report from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Tanner Mitchell, a 28-year-old from Fargo, was traveling northbound on State Highway 20, when he drove through a red light. Mitchell was then struck at a right angle by a Chevrolet Traverse, driven by 63-year-old Paul Tronson, from Doyon, N.D. Mitchell s vehicle, a Ford Explorer rolled off into a ditch with the front driver side s wheel flying off after striking a third vehicle, driven by 84-year-old Earl Pelton.

(Devils Lake, ND) A 63-year-old man is hurt after a three vehicle crash in Devils Lake Sunday morning just after 11am. North Dakota Highway Patrol says 63-year-old Paul Tronson was traveling eastbound in an SUV off US Highway 2 and SR 20, when another SUV plowed threw a stoplight and Tronson s vehicle slammed into it. The vehicle that ran the red light went into a ditch, the SUV s front driver s side wheel actually left the vehicle and hit another SUV. Tronson was seriously injured. 28-year-old Tanner Mitchell was arrested on a number of charges, including DUI  

Fargo driver arrested for DUI in a three-vehicle crash in Devils Lake

Fargo, ND, USA / Y94 May 24, 2021 | 3:53 AM DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (KFGO) – A Fargo man was arrested for drunk driving following a three-vehicle crash in Devils Lake around 11 a.m. Sunday. The State Patrol says an SUV driven by 28-year-old Tanner Mitchell ran a red light at the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and State Highway 20 and t-boned a vehicle that had the right-of-way. The driver of that vehicle, 63-year old Paul Tronson, was seriously injured. A passenger, Kristy Tronson, was not hurt. Both are from Doyan, North Dakota. Mitchell’s SUV ended up in a ditch and the driver’s side wheel flew off and struck a car traveling on Highway 20. The driver of that vehicle, 84-year old Earl Pelton, and his passenger, 80-year old Darlene Pelton, both of Dickinson, were not hurt.
