A special evening program in the historic barn at the George Spangler Farm & Field Hospital is planned for Thursday, Aug. 24, at 6 p.m., according to a Gettysburg Foundation
Gettysburg Foundation will host Family Day at the George Spangler Farm & Field Hospital, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., Saturday, May 27, according to a foundation release.
In the hot and humid morning of Wednesday, July 7, members of the National Society of Children of the American Revolution worked on various maintenance projects on the Spangler Farm, 488 Blacksmith Shop Road, Gettysburg. At left, Jacob Shadinger, of Chicago, president of the National Society of Children of the American Revolution, works alongside members of the organization The youngsters spread wood chips and gravel, stacked firewood and performed other tasks for the Gettysburg Foundation which maintains the site of a large field hospital during and after the battle of Gettysburg.
