A theologian and Jesuit priest whose writings had previously been censured by the Vatican was recognized with the highest award from the Catholic Theological Society of America at its June 8-11 conference in Milwaukee. The society also honored two women scholars with awards for their work.
Jean Ikeda took over from Carol Olson, who announced earlier this year that she would be leaving after leading the organization since 2019. The nonprofit recruits and trains volunteers to work with students in local schools.
Mentor Tutor Connection recognized volunteer Russ Satake Sept. 28 for his leadership as the visionary behind a new fund for the organization, the Bruno Adams Bright Futures Fund.
