possibly. was there also a political or public relations component to monday s announcement? also very possible. we have no clear answer to chairman issa s allegation tonight. nor for this allegation levelled by issa and republican senator charles grassley. they say the atf has now put these two fast and furious whistleblowers, special agent shawn dodson and pete fraselli under a boss who threatened to take them down. in a letter, issa and grassley say their supervisor had it in for the pair. quote, we stated we need to get whatever dirt we can on these guys, the whistleblowers, and take them down. the letter also crites another incident in which it was allegedly said that atf needs to f these guys. with us now are brian terry s mom josephine and his cousin robert hire. josephine, our condolences for the loess of your son, i can t imagine what this last two years having like, more than two years now. i wanted first of all to get your reaction to the recent indoomi indictments
investigation into the fast and furious gun running operation. tonight, the mother and cousin of slain border patrol agent brian terry, the man you see right there, who was killed in connection with the gun running operation, they are speaking out on this program. speaking out for the first time since the indictments were unsealed on monday, charging five people in the shootout that resulted in the death of agent terry. the shootout, which happened in december of 2010. now, two guns were found at the scene of terry s murder. guns that months earlier, the u.s. government allegedly knew and allowed to be bought by known criminals. four of the five men charged in agent terry s murder are still at wlarlarge, presumably in mex. we have pictures of three of them. federal authorities are offering up to $1 million for information leading up to their arrest. brian terry s mother and cousin joining us exclusively in just a moment. but first, keeping them honest. there s question abou
your friends and neighbors or somebody off the street wouldn t get because they were members of congress or working for members of congress. what i found amazing in your report is that according to the report, these sweetheart deals basically came about because so many congressional staffers were actually complaining to the countrywide lobbyists about their own personal loans, so the lobbyists would spend the first 30 minutes of meetings dealing with people s personal complaints. that just seems outrageous to me. it does. particularly when you re on the committees that are charged with tightening up the rules and regulations. we were dealing with all these bad loans and whatnot. and these people, they were complaining about them but then so they took this program, internal program and called it friends of angelo and decided to go ahead and start helping these people. and it s just wrong. it didn t smell right, didn t look right because it wasn t right. it would be as
2.5 million people are not counted in this unemployment rate at all. they can work, but they have stopped looking for work. so they re not counted in the unemployment rate. so it s actually higher than 8.2%. also very key here is minorities. we have to look at what has happened to african-americans. their unemployment rate has gone up for the month of may. it s now nearly 14.5%. it is pretty much double unemployment for whites, hispanics, 11% unemployment. that s problematic. and this is all very political. looking at the big picture here, we were bleeding jobs at the end of the bush administration and the beginning of the obama administration. this is where you ll hear the president talk about jobs recovery. but the issue here is the last three months. april, may and june. we have seen just anemic jobs growth. this jobs report is key because we only have four more jobs reports before the election. so you re going to here back and forth from both the obama administration and
