Kora Shriners unveiled the "Editorial Without Words" statue Saturday afternoon. Bobbi Jo Wright, the little girl depicted in the statue, was in attendance and shared the important work Shriners do throughout North America and the world.

AUGUSTA A 2-acre park hidden away in the heart of busy and heavily developed north Augusta, is getting spruced up by a combination of volunteers, businesses and the city.
Maintenance of Kennebec Valley Garden Club Park, created in the mid-1970s at the urging of the late philanthropist Elsie Viles, had fallen off in recent years. AUGUSTA City Manager William “Bill” Bridgeo has announced his retirement, after 23 years as Augusta’s manager and 43 years in municipal management.
The 71-year-old Maine native said he still loves his job, but the time is right for someone new to take on the job and for him to join his wife, Janice, who retired six months ago after two decades as an elementary school teacher in Winthrop.
