Clinton Andrew Willetts, 49, has been sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment for failing to comply with a protection order and threatening to kill or do grievous bodily harm.
A Twizel man has been jailed for brandishing an air rifle and threatening to shoot a police officer, sparking a seven-hour stand-off with the Armed Offenders Squad. Fifteen police officers, including the Armed Offenders Squad (AOS) flown in from Christchurch, and two ambulance staff responded to reports that Clinton Andrew Willetts was armed and threatening to harm himself, his former employer, and a police officer in October. Willetts, 49, was sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment when he appeared before Judge Joanna Maze in the Timaru District Court on Monday.
