Drug addict slashed friend s face with craft knife following row A DRUG addict slashed a perceived love rival across the face with a craft knife after getting in a fight. Jamie Scott had spent the day drinking and smoking crack cocaine with his friend before becoming enraged when he received a phone call from a woman they had both previously been in a relationship with. The 29-year-old initially attacked his victim with a dustpan and brush before grabbing the knife and slashing his face believing his ex-partner had been unfaithful with his friend. Teesside Crown Court heard how the fight calmed down and the pair walked to the woman’s house but the violence quickly restarted as they brawled in the street.

Drugged up burglar Thomas Nixon has been jailed for seven years A DRUGGED up burglar left a family terrified as he threatened them with a knife after they barricaded themselves in their bedrooms. Thomas Nixon smashed his way into the family home with a shovel before demanding the victims hand over their cash and stole Christmas presents. The couple and their ten-year-old daughter were in bed in Arncliffe Road, Middlesbrough, on December 18 when Nixon broke into their home. The 37-year-old appeared at the bottom of the stairs shouting stay upstairs, there are four of us here with knives , Teesside Crown Court heard.
Gavin McEwan The court heard how McEwan forced his way into the flat of the vulnerable man before making the threats with the knife. He said: The defendant made demands for money and said he would cut him up if he didn t tell him the truth in ten seconds. He said he would cut the complainants throat. After leaving the flat empty-handed McEwan headed to the Boots shop on Westgate and threatened the manager with the knife when he tried to stop him stealing perfume. Mr Newcombe said: He pointed it at the man and shouted don t f ing move . He then removed seven bottles of perfume worth up to £100.
