On Friday, Nov. 10, Naperville Sunrise Rotary will assist West Suburban Community Pantry in packing the pantry with foods families need, as well as books for children from infants to age 18, during the annual Harvest Week Drive.
West Suburban Community Pantry recently began using the Instant Language Assistant by Translate Live to defeat the language barrier that was impeding the Pantry s ability to serve their increasingly diverse migrant population.
The rising cost of food coupled with short supplies of certain staple items are wreaking havoc with household food budgets as well as the ability of local food pantries to help those most in need of support.
In response to expanded demand for food and supplies by customers, West Suburban Community Pantry in Woodridge has expanded hours and services to accommodate an increase in customers resulting in crowded facilities and wait times for admittance.
