Starting and finishing at Silverstone, Eydon is about the half way point. This was the eventual winner, Paul Martelletti. The race is still being held annually, but I haven't seen it come through the village since. The runners set off and, half an hour later, a 'catcher car' sets off behind them. Paul Martelletti managed 69.37 km before he was caught, which was the 5th longest distance in the world for that year. I'd actually walked down through the village so that I could catch the runners on this hill without too many cars around - the High Street is always congested - but when I got there I found that I'd forgotten something (card? flat battery? I can't remember!) so I couldn't use my Canon 7d and had to use the original Canon mirrorless, an EOS
