Company Will Lead Project Funded by California Energy Commission BRIDGE Program
/EIN News/ BURLINGTON, Vt. , Feb. 03, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) Packetized Energy, a leading developer of software systems and smart devices that help the electricity industry flexibly manage electricity demand, will receive $2 million in prime contractor funding from the California Energy Commission under their BRIDGE (Bringing Rapid Innovation Development to Green Energy) program. The award will fund deployment and connection of 7,000 new and existing smart energy devices to Packetized Energy’s Nimble platform, enabling a combined 4 megawatts (MW) of grid flexibility. The project will create one of the largest distributed energy resource (DER) aggregation networks from residential devices in California.

BURLINGTON, Vt., Dec. 16, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) Water heaters powered by Central Electric Power Cooperative and its 20 member-cooperatives will get “smarter,” thanks to a new five-year agreement with Packetized Energy, whose thermostat systems add flexibility and responsiveness to electric water heaters. The devices will help balance Central’s system and deliver peak demand savings for its member-cooperatives.
