Kirkland & Ellis has hired Paul Guan as a partner and head of the firm’s private equity real estate practice in Asia. Based in Hong Kong, Guan joins from Paul Hastings, where he headed the Greater China real estate practice. Guan represents global and regional private equity sponsors and strategic investors on a broad range of cross-border real estate M&A, joint venture, fund formation, securities, and financing transactions. Guan first joined Paul Hastings at the start of his legal career in 2008, leaving for a one-year in-house stint in 2013. He returned in 2014, and was named as a partner in the following year.
