GPCC, govt to train 1,500 youth in TVET

Graphic Online BY: Felicia Kwarteng 705 The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) in partnership with the Government of Ghana (GoG) yesterday launched a three-month Technical and Vocational Entrepreneurship Training skills (TVET) for 1,500 youth across the country. The programme, which is fully funded by the government, is aimed at equipping the participants with the needed skills while curbing unemployment in the country. At the launch in Accra, the General Secretary of the GPCC, Rev. Emmanuel T. Barrigah, encouraged the participants to take full advantage of the training to help them gain skills that would help them employ themselves in future instead of going to look for jobs and greener pastures that did not exist in the western countries.

First Sky Group celebrates 18 years in business with thanksgiving The First Sky Group has lined up two activities to commemorate its 18th anniversary beginning from Friday, January 1, 2021. Themed ‘Behold, I Do a New Thing’, the first activity which is ‘Prayer Night’ is scheduled to take place at the Dome, Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) at 8 pm. A Thanksgiving Service follows on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at 9.30 am at AICC as well. The special guest of honour for the Sunday event is His Eminence Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams, Founder and General Overseer of Action Chapel Ghana. The event will be chaired by Rev. Prof Paul Frimpong-Manso, General Superintendent of Assemblies of God Ghana and President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council. Also in attendance will be Ministers of the Gospel, Honorable Ministers of State, Honorable Members of Parliament and other notable dignitaries.

Gifty Frimpong ordained youngest Assemblies of God Pastor

+ A 24-year-old student of the University of Cape Coast Medical School, Ms Gifty Frimpong, has been ordained minister of the gospel in the Assemblies of God Church. Her ordination comes days after she completed a four-year intensive studies at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, South Campus at Kormantse in the Central Region. She is the youngest person to be ordained minister of the church. As part of her ministerial endeavour, Pastor Gifty Frimpong is expected to undergo one-year of service at the Jehovah Jireh Assemblies of God Church at Adenta Japan Motors, near Lakeside Estates, in preparation for the work ahead.

Christians must spread gospel through ICT – Rev Frimpong Manso General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Rev Paul Frimpong-Manso, has been asked churches to resort to the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to spread the word of God. Speaking at a ceremony in Accra to launch the Digital Version of the Sunday School Manual of the Church, he said; While there is a lot on the internet, including immoral materials, we Christians can also make positive inroads and try to change the world into a better place through the same internet. Dubbed the Lessman App, the Manual is expected to enhance core activities of the Church such as reaching out to members far and near, ensuring the effective reach of vital church matters, and interaction amongst the congregation.
