As the saying goes, representation matters, and the debut feature from writer-director Danielle Lessovitz stands as a fantastic and inspiring example of how to actively put that sentiment into practice. But it s what Lessovitz chose to do with Port Authority that makes it an even greater model for progress.
The film will be available for streaming rental on May 28 via Athens Ciné s virtual cinema platform, which has helped the local nonprofit theatre remain in operation throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Profits from ticket sales are split evenly between Ciné and the distributors that supply the movies.
