Mar 6, 2021 Larson Design Group recently welcomed Paul DiGirolamo, as its new director of construction inspection. Based in the Pittsburgh office, DiGirolamo brings the experience and skill of more than 30 years of working in the fields of construction, geotechnical, site planning, and structural engineering to his role with LDG.
In his career, DiGirolamo has overseen the construction inspection of thousands of public and private projects alike. He served as special inspector for the city of Pittsburgh on numerous projects for landmarks such as the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, the Peterson Events Center and the Pittsburgh Children’s Museum. For the last 15 years, DiGirolamo worked primarily with the state Department of Transportation and helped bring innovative techniques to their processes during his time there. In 2011 and 2012 he piloted the use of iPads on PennDOT construction projects, a case study that ultimately resulted in the use of iPads on all PennDOT project

Msgr. James F. Connelly, 89, pastor emeritus of Stella Maris Parish in Philadelphia, died Dec. 5.
Born in Philadelphia the son of the late James H. Connelly and the late Mary (Devlin) Connelly, he attended St. Joan of Arc School and St. Joseph Preparatory School before entering St. Charles Borromeo Seminary.
He also attended the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome where he obtained a licentiate in theology and a doctorate in church history.
He was ordained in Rome on Dec. 17, 1955 by Archbishop Martin J. O’Connor, rector of the North American College.
His first assignment upon his return to Philadelphia was as parochial vicar at St. Gabriel Parish, Norwood, followed by St. John the Baptist, Philadelphia, and faculty of St. Charles Borromeo Seminary where he rose to the position of vice rector.
