“It’s the same system that’s bringing snow and ice (there),” Close said. That storm was expected to affect much of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Wednesday into Thursday. And we’re talking heavy wet snow. Freezing rain and ice was also likely in western North Carolina and southwest Virginia, the NWS said. The good news for us: Saturday and Sunday starts the warmup with highs around 69 and 72 respectively.
