An Asian police officer is suing the Met Police for sexual harassment and discrimination after receiving hundreds of racist and sexist messages from a senior colleague.
The woman said she felt groomed and violated after Stephen Redgewell sent her sexual images over two years.
Det Sgt Redgewell represented her through his role as deputy general secretary of the Met Police Federation.
The Met said it had zero tolerance for racist and sexist behaviour.

Mr Redgewell, now 54, resigned from the force in 2018 following separate reports that he had had sex with a dominatrix in the headquarters of the Met Police Federation.

Redgewell was found to have abused his position as deputy general secretary and treasurer of the Met Police Federation, which represents rank-and-file officers, by behaving in a predatory manner towards the woman he was assisting.

A senior detective for the Metropolitan Police that quit after having sex with a vampire-loving “dominatrix” unleashed a torrent of racist, homophobic and sexist language in texts and conversations, an investigation found.
Stephen Redgewell was a former deputy sergeant at London’s law enforcement agency who resigned in 2018 when it emerged he had kinky trysts in the headquarters of an association which represents rank-and-file officers,
He reportedly showered Denise Pearce with gifts, including a skull ring. The pair fell out, however, when he declined to leave his family home to marry her at Dracula’s Castle in Romania – she had even picked a black dress for the wedding, she claimed.

A Met Police officer abused his power to pursue a relationship with a colleague and used racist language, an investigation has found.
Stephen Redgewell sent sexual images to a colleague and called her an Asian babe , an Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) report said.
Det Sgt Redgewell had been representing the woman through his role as deputy general secretary of the Met Police Federation.
He resigned from the force in 2018.
Had he not done so, Mr Redgewell, now 54, would have been dismissed for gross misconduct, the Met Police said.
