The Cultural Quarter pop-up programme has been delivering a series of town-centre based arts and culture activities over the past year with further exciting events to come.
Cosmoville
Created by the students themselves, the piece was based on a basic idea and outline put forward by lecturers Paul Ackerley and Joel Scott.
“I wrote it with a colleague of mine,” Paul says. “What we do is that we create a piece of theatre. We set up a treatment. We describe the plot and scene. We have got a basic plot and then we create some scenes that we then set up so that we have got a beginning, an end and a middle, and then we give the characters dialogue so that it is all layered up, and then we offer it to the company.

Student producer and cast member Connor Dickson said: “This will be our second live-stream from the Connaught Theatre and follows the huge success of our sister production in March where we reached well over a thousand people. Building on that and with the support of the former Soho Cinders’ West End cast who are following and sharing our social media, we are anticipating having a bit of a hit on our hands.
“Stiles and Drewe have gained the reputation as the UK 21st century’s Rodgers and Hammerstein with a number of celebrated pieces behind them including Betty Blue Eyes, Honk! Peter Pan and the Just So stories.
