SAN DIEGO, CA UC San Diego Health, San Diego County and the Padres are teaming up to vaccinate at least 5,000 healthcare workers per day against the novel coronavirus, starting Monday.
Those partners, along with the City of San Diego, will run the Vaccination Super Station near Petco Park in an effort to safely vaccinate the 500,000 healthcare workers in the region eligible for Phase 1A-Tier categories on California s vaccine priority list. The Vaccination Super Station increases our ability as a county to administer the vaccine to healthcare workers, said San Diego County Board of Supervisors Chair Nathan Fletcher.

SAN DIEGO, CA San Diego County public health officials reported 39 new deaths and 2,598 new COVID-19 infections Wednesday. It was the 16th day overall with more than 2,000 new cases.
The county s cumulative cases increased to 134,696 infected residents.
The county s death toll is now 1,311: 16 men and 12 women died between Dec. 9 and Dec. 21, and their ages ranged from the early 50s to mid-90s. All but one had underlying medical conditions.

In San Diego County, 5,492 residents are currently hospitalized. Of those, 1,155 are currently admitted into the intensive care units.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, California San Diego County public health officials today reported 28 new deaths and 2,381 new COVID-19 infections, the fewest reported since Dec. 14.
Tuesday s reported cases mark the 22nd consecutive day with more than 1,000 cases. It was also the 15th day overall with more than 2,000 new cases. With 3,252 COVID-19 infections reported Monday, 3,611 Friday, 3,493 Saturday, 2,807 Wednesday and 2,604 cases Thursday, the five highest daily case counts have all occurred in the past week.
