Cleveland patrol officer resigns following allegations of tipping off individuals suspected of drug activity Cleveland Police (Source: Cleveland Police) By Rachel Vadaj | March 4, 2021 at 7:05 PM EST - Updated March 4 at 7:05 PM CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The City of Cleveland confirmed Patrol Officer Noel Hernandez resigned on Thursday after being suspected of “providing law enforcement investigative information to individuals suspected of drug activity and of participating in conduct and behavior not acceptable of a police officer.” His resignation comes one day before facing his disciplinary hearing before Safety Director Karrie Howard for the multiple allegations of ethics violations and Cleveland Division of Police Manual of Rules violations.

A Cleveland police officer has resigned following multiple allegations of ethics violations.  According to the City of Cleveland, Patrol Officer Noel Hernandez, 34, submitted his resignation to his superior on March 4, before facing a March 5 disciplinary hearing with Cleveland s Safety Director, Karrie Howard.  The city says that Hernandez has been accused of violations of the police s ethics code, as well as the Cleveland Division of Police Manual of Rules. A press release from the city says that the patrol officer was suspected of providing law enforcement investigative information to individuals suspected of drug activity and of participating in conduct and behavior not acceptable of a police officer.
