CASHLESS TOLLING ON KILPATRICK TURNPIKE: Drivers getting use to cashless tolling on Kilpatrick Turnpike after weekend transition

The Kilpatrick Turnpike is now cashless after the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority converted to PlatePay over the weekend.People driving on the Kilpatrick Turnpike will no longer have to carry cash or coins to pay at a toll plaza. Now, they can drive right through and be billed later.Jack Damrill said drivers are still getting used to the new system 24 hours into the cashless tolling on the turnpike. We know some people that tried to drive around the barricades to get into the toll plaza, said Damrill, who is with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. The OTA transitioned to cashless tolling over the weekend to make roads safer. We ve had over 500 accidents in the last six years at the mainline toll plazas. That does not include the side gates and the ramps like MacArthur, May Avenue, Damrill said.One of those accidents included when four people were hurt after an ambulance slammed into a toll booth last year on the H.E. TRIPLETS BORN: Family celebrates birth of identical triplets

Giving birth to rare identical triplets.A Blanchard mother delivered three baby girls in June.The family is finally together after the two youngest came home from the hospital. Aspen, Kensli and Layken spent nearly two months in the NICU. “They were born at 29 weeks so they were all a little over two pounds, so they were really small,” mom Stephanie Norman said. Small but mighty – and growing every day. “Aspen, she actually got to come home first,” she said. “The other two were still in the NICU, so that was really hard.”The Norman family is all together now. Stephanie, dad TJ and 2-year-old Wyatt are adjusting going from a family of three to six. Stephanie gave birth to the triplets on June 2. “They all have their own sack, so since they all shared one placenta, that made them identical,” she said. BOYS ESCAPE: Two boys escape Norman detention center

The search is on for two juveniles who escaped a Cleveland County detention center.The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office said the two left the Alan Couch Center near North Flood and Tecumseh in Norman around 10:30 a.m. today. There was a huge police presence in the area earlier. The sheriff’s office said the boys were last seen running near railroad tracks off Flood Avenue – not far from the detention center.That’s where authorities spent much of their time searching today. And Sky 5 flew over the search area. Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s air unit, as well as Norman police and drones were all assisting in the search.Deputies were told that the duo had possibly jumped on a passing train in the Noble area. BNSF Railroad was notified. There’s a video from earlier today of a train stopped on the tracks near Flood and Rock Creek in Norman.
