The crews are inside there right now hunting around for hotspots. This fire is now finally under control after five hours. The view from chopper 5 earlier this morning shows a massive column of flames and dark smoke shooting hundreds of feet into the sky and broke out around 6 00 this morning inside a machine shop on gun smith avenue in the middle of a dense mix of industrial businesses and homes. Redwood city called for six alarms to keep it from spreading. Neighbors banged on doors to wake each other up. One woman rushed out. 17 people evacuated, no injuries, many homes were heavily damaged. Arson fire. Im a nice person, but somebody with problems who need help. Reporter that was the suspect himself from a jailhouse interview during a string of arsons 15 years ago. All being treated for smoke inhalation and for cuts and scrapes. Because they jumped out of a back window of a home early this morning. Its really a small cottage that is on the backside of the home. Good evening im frank somerville. And im gasia mikaelian. Heres what we know about him, his name is Patrick William brennan. Police say they have connected brennan to this huge warehouse fire last thursday. It was the largest of the 12 fires that was set over the period of five days. Right now brennan is only charged with two of those fires but the numbers could go up. A number of surveillance videos that show a man setting fires was key to identifying him along with the work of a midnight duty sergeant who searched through an arsonist data base. When were able to find arsonists who live in the area it was definitely a good lead. Reporter when they caught up with brennan he surrendered peacefully and is cooperative. Police say they picked up brennan at his mobile home park. That is just blocks from the scene of one of the fires. Police say they had him under surveillance since sunday night. We spoke to one of his neighbors who described him as weird. He would just go to the store and t
