nichols. the full videos, released last night, show five former memphis police officers repeatedly beating the 29 year old, and i want to warn you, what you re about to watch is extremely graphic. the videos document nichols being pulled over earlier this month for alleged reckless driving. police are then seen yanking nichols from his car, chasing, kicking him, using pepper spray and batons. nichols, unarmed, cries out for his mother at one point. he died from his injuries three days later in the hospital, and those videos sparking largely peaceful protests all across the country. earlier this week the five officers involved were charged with second degree murder, and now after this video has come out two officers from a different department who are also on scene that night have been put on leave pending an investigation into their conduct. cnn s boris sanchez breaks down these newly released videos. again, a warning for you, they re very graphic. reporter: tyre nichols sc

live in the cnn newsroom. we begin with a series of deadly storms have unleashed a massive flooding across the central and northern portions of the state. mandatory evacuations are underway where a levy breached earlier this morning. california national guard says this is just one of more than 50 rescues near the breached levee off the river. the 10th to strike california this winter. we are joined from monterey county. give us the latest. reporter: we learned a couple minutes ago there are more than 90 rescues in this tiny town, which is incredible just to see how concentrated the neighborhoods are and to know there were over 90 rescues in a few hours is amazing. we also learned local authorities are bringing engineers to figure out the best fix for the levy that has been breached. that is why we have this water all the way around us. around midnight the water came over a particularly vulnerable part of the levy and came to the lower point of gravity over here to the middle
