A lawyer representing about 20 tenants being kicked out of the trailer park at the Newport News/Williamsburg Airport is pushing back against their removal and says the airport must pay his clients “just compensation” to give up their homes.
Dozens of tenants living in the Patrick Henry Mobile Home Park are scrambling to find new homes as a $2,000 incentive hangs in the balance if they leave by the end of May 31, 2022.
Some tenants at Patrick Henry Mobile Home Park are fighting back. They retained a lawyer after the Newport News Airport, which owns the land, decided to close the park in November. Now 80 families are being forced out for what they say is little compensation.
