Chief, just a short while ago. He says five homes here on quickly. Street were impacted for had exterior damage. The residents of those homes will likely be able to go home tonight, but one unit was completely destroyed. The fire chief says that the light winds out here also factored into this. Causing the fire to spread. But the big concern early on was the fire got dangerously close to a gas station around the corner. This is video from earlier today. As mentioned, the fire broke out around two p. M. Firefighters seem to guide and control around three oclock. This is the oaklands laurel district. The fire also started several spot fires along 5 80. Were told that three lanes of westbound traffic of 5 80 are closed as firefighters worked to stop the spread, the fire chief says. Currently power is cut off to the entire neighborhood. We do have power out mostly on quigley, 7000 residents are impacted currently by the power outage. We hope to have the power back on in about 3 to 4 hours.
