PHILIPSBURG: - Management of NV GEBE has taken note of the feedback received regarding its notice to temporarily interrupt the water supply to the Soualiga Drive in Philipsburg on Thursday, February 11, 2021, and thanks to the general public for its input.
Interim Manager, Dr. Sharine Daniel stated that the Customer Care of NV GEBE is far-reaching and aims at all times to ensure that clients and the community at large are duly informed when the services of electricity or water are required to be interrupted for maintenance work. This is to always ensure the least bit of inconvenience to persons within the applicable areas. Furthermore, Dr. Daniel remains cognizant of the fact that the availability of water is of great necessity in warding off the COVID 19 disease-causing virus and has therefore discussed the postponement of the maintenance work with her Distribution Manager, Mr. Patrick Drijvers.

PHILIPSBURG: - NV GEBE stated in a press release that one of the company’s priorities in 2021 is to ensure Street Lights repair throughout various districts on the Dutch Side of St. Maarten.
In a press release sent to this media, NV GEBE stated that prior to hurricane IRMA the number of street lights installed was a little over 4000. After the passing of IRMA, a survey was done and only 1700 street lights survived the devastation. Currently, NV GEBE has restored approximately 1800 street lights with the remaining to be completed in 2021. Due to budget constraints, this process has taken longer than projected. In 2020, even during the COVID period, NV GEBE has installed and or replaced over 800 street lights.
