When I See You Again, the first single from Emerson Drive s greatest hits album, might have been about the band s strategic move south to Nashville a few years back.
Dale Wallace, the band s keyboard player from Kamloops, bridges the distance with visits home. He spent an entire month here over Christmas, visiting with family, ice fishing at Pinantan and skiing at Sun Peaks.
That s not what the song is about, though.
The band s new album and its Decade and Driving Tour, which comes to Kamloops Convention Centre Feb. 28, celebrates 10 years of success, but it hasn t been a smooth cruise. When I See You Again recalls what must have been the darkest moment on that journey, the suicide of bandmate Patrick Bourque four years ago. As Brad Mate sings:
