The drug regulator of Uttarakhand state in India has suspended manufacturing licenses for 14 products made by pharmaceutical companies associated with popular yoga guru Baba Ramdev. This action comes after repeated instances of misleading advertisements about the efficacy of these products. Although the order, issued on April 15, has not been made public, it has been reviewed by Reuters.
In a regulatory filing, Patanjali Foods informed that its board has discussed the initial proposal received from Patanjali Ayurved Ltd for a sale of the latter's non-food business undertaking to the company.
The Supreme Court had questioned whether the size of the apology published in newspapers by Patanjali matched the size of full-page advertisements for its products.
