How three Green Bay-area bars are doing St Patrick s Day this year

St. Brendan’s Inn, 234 S. Washington St., Green Bay The city’s go-to spot for a St. Patrick’s Day party (think more than 1,000 pounds of corned beef and 35 barrels of Guinness in a normal year) has downsized the fun due to COVID-19. No big outdoor tent with bands all day and night this year, but you ll still find music inside by Gerry Sloan from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Speako Chords from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The bar will be pouring what comedian Kathleen Madigan has called the best Guinness outside of Ireland beginning at 9 a.m. The Blessing of the Shamrock and bagpipes are scheduled for 10 a.m. The kitchen opens after the ceremony and will be serving a limited menu anchored by corned beef and cabbage, Reubens, Irish root soup and fish and chips. Curbside delivery, takeout and dine-in are available.

Offaly publican s online sessions attract global audience Reporter: );   ); THOUSANDS of people all over the world are viewing a live stream of musical and vocal performances set up by the Brewery Tap pub in Tullamore. In an effort to keep spirits up during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Monday Night Tap Session has brought together singers, poets, musicians and much more, all from their own homes. Those who join the session on Zoom were especially taken by a poem written and recited by Frances Browner, Greystones resident and relation of Tap proprietor Paul Bell. Frances mother was Sadie Bell from Cloghan and the writer spent all her childhood summers in Offaly.
