Before 2012, the “mobile” food scene in Central New York consisted primarily of hot dog carts and the occasional larger vehicle serving burgers, sandwiches and other staple items.
Then came Steve LeClair. His Street Eats food truck served more “gourmet” items like chicken adobo tacos, burgers with strawberry rhubarb bacon jam, and a sandwich called The Kraken (balsamic-marinated veggies on a ciabatta roll with feta cheese and pepper and sunflower seed pesto). And lots of specialty cupcakes.
Around Town: Isolation is dangerous at every age

Anna Freud, daughter Sigmund Freud, father of psychoanalysis, began studying the effects of loneliness and isolation on children during the Spanish Civil War in 1936. Soon she had a much bigger subject base as the German War Machine began bombing England in late 1939.
It was then that concerned parents began removing children from high-target areas like London and “resettling” them in the countryside. Eventually, many children were sent to America to be fostered and cared for as it was believed that an invasion of England by the Nazis was imminent.

It appears the effort to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom may qualify for a special election. That has not happened since Gray Davis fell to a successful recall election in 2003. Are recalls that unusual in California politics? Not at all. In fact, there have been 55 gubernatorial recall attempts since 1939.
That year, then-Gov. Culbert L. Olson was the subject of three recall efforts and two more in 1940. All failed to qualify for the ballot. Things fell quiet until the era of Edmund G. Brown, who had three recall attempts thrown his way in 1960 and 1965. Those failed, too, but the throw-him-out movement had become a political tool of protest.
Democrats should look hard at the history of what happens to the ruling party when they throw their majority around to force feed legislation through Congress.
