For the first time in eight years, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (MCFN) will have a new elected chief. Gimaa (Chief) R. Stacey Laforme says he is retiring from politics. MCFN election day is on Dec. 9.
City staffers will coordinate with Hamilton Police Service and Hamilton Public Library to set up a process where both entities would need city council’s approval before spending surplus funds. The city’s audit, finance and administration committee unanimously approved the motion Thursday.
It will replace the current vehicle but will cost almost twice as much. The truck was part of a list of items the service expects to have to spend money from 2024 to 2033.
